Tulip
& Lily is a masterful example of Voysey's skill in pattern design; the
field is an intricate repetition of curves, arcs, circles and ovals, all
held in place by the geometry of the border. One of Voysey's most
visually and spatially complex carpet designs, the stylized lilies in
the border are echoed and repeated, primarily as compositional shapes,
in the field. Small touches of bright color enliven Tulip & Lily even
