Voysey's original point papers for “Vineyard” from the Victoria & Albert museum. Surviving originals unknown.

Another masterful design, the Vineyard carpet is a fairly dense, complex composition. Any sense of heaviness, however, is banished by the complex rhythms that Voysey establishes, again further enhanced by our artists' placement of colour in the field. There is vertical, horizontal and diagonal repetition in the field which creates a sense of movement and life. As with all of Voysey's work, this carpet shows his great understanding of, and equal delight in, the natural world.
