The Wykehamist design was originally created as a wallpaper, and later produced as machine-made carpet by Tomkinson & Adam.

Designed in 1897, this carpet is a bold example of Voysey's sense of proportion and contrasting scale. The Wykehamist is the most abstract of all the GuildCraft carpet motifs. The elements of the field are large shapes of color that depict extremely stylized leaves, branches and flowers. As with many of Voysey's designs from the 1890's, the Wykehamist was also produced as a wallpaper by Essex & Co., and as a woven textile by Alexander Morton & Sons, two English companies that regularly executed designs by Voysey for the commercial market.
